2008 August > Extreme Networking

Who wants to be at some boring networking function, passing out business cards over finger-sandwiches, wine and cheese when they could be excitedly connecting while paddling down a scenic river or reminiscing of the view you had while just soaring high above the countryside in a graceful and silent glider? Carina Fato, Marketing Manager for Soccerworld Hamilton on Frid St. proved that sharing cool experiences with potential business associates is the recipe for a much more effective connection and greater potential business relationship when she organized her first "extreme networking" event for business partners at the SOSA Gliding Club in Rockton in July. Participants were briefed on the basics of gliding by an instructor and then towed into the air for an exhilarating ride of their life (with a pilot of course!) Carina's future networking plans include jet-boating on the Niagara River, taking a sunset canoe on the Grand River and riding on a Zamboni!
